Navy Week Meteorology & Oceanography Demo

The Navy takes over our 2:00 Media Lab demo today! Lt. Leia Peffer, a Navy meteorology/oceanography officer will give a presentation/demo and Q&A session in the Molina Media Lab at 2:00 pm!

Whether operating in the air, at sea, or underwater, Navy equipment, people and decision-making all rely on the technical and tactical advice of Navy Meteorology/Oceanography Officers. They have expertise in oceanography, meteorology, hydrography and precise time and astronomy as they help guide ships, aircraft and troops based on weather forecasts and ocean conditions; relay forecast updates and weather warnings to military and civilian authorities; prepare ocean, sea and waterway charts and maps from basic navigation to search-and-rescue efforts; maintain the military’s primary master clock; and so much more.
