Micron CNY Community Week

Monday, March 30–Friday, April 3

Join Micron and the MOST for a week-long series of free STEM education, workforce, and community engagement events that celebrate progress and energize Central New York around the opportunities Micron is creating for students, educators, and the community at large.

The week brings together community leaders, educators, nonprofits, professionals, students, and families to take part in K-12 STEM activities, education and career pathway showcases, workforce panels, tech insights, and volunteerism.

For: Students in grades 6–12

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to a learning event featuring local astronaut Jeanette Epps. Students will learn more about Micron, technology career pathways, and experience hands-on STEM activities. Space is limited and registration is required. This event at Onondaga Community College features a tour of the Micron Cleanroom Simulation Lab.

Lunch and snacks for students are included.

For: Students in grades 6–12 in the North Syracuse Central School District and OCM BOCES

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to a learning event featuring local astronaut Jeanette Epps. Students will learn more about Micron, technology career pathways, and experience hands-on STEM activities in breakout sessions. There will also be hands-on STEM activities from Micron, the MOST, and Erie21/Le Moyne College.

Lunch and afternoon snacks for students are included.

Join us for an information session for individuals interested in careers in construction and the building trades. Syracuse Build is supported by CenterState CEO in partnership with the NYS Department of Labor and CNY Works. During the session, you will learn about:

The community is invited to learn more about the construction and trades roles from Micron and its contractors. These will be some of the first roles available related to the Micron project.

Location: INSPYRE Innovation Hub, 235 Harrison St, Syracuse

Time: 2:30-5:30

For: The business community

Join Chief Executive Officer Rob Simpson and the CenterState CEO team at the new INSPYRE Innovation Hub for a Tech Talk with guest speaker Steve Bakota, Micron CVP of Strategy and Business Operations, and Scott Gatzemeier, Micron CVP US Expansion. Topics will cover the intersection of AI and Micron Memory as well as an overview of Micron’s global manufacturing and expansion. Networking reception to follow.

Micron supports local nonprofits through hands-on engagement and investment. Join us in the morning to assist with creating bags of food at Food Bank’s warehouse for distribution to children within the Syracuse City School District.

For: Nonprofit professionals, community members, and families

Nonprofit leaders, community members, and families are invited to the downtown Central Library to hear about Micron’s volunteerism and giving initiatives and learn more about United Way’s Day of Caring activities, and join us in volunteering to assemble hygiene kits for those in need.

Join us for a free STEM Fest at the MOST sponsored by Micron! Enjoy free admission to the museum all day, hands-on fun STEM activities, and food trucks (11-2). Micron representatives and the MOST’s Micron Fellows will be in the Micron DECONSTRUCTED exhibit with special displays and programming.
