Power Engineering: Wind Energy Industry – Sweet Science Series

April 12, 2018 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
500 S Franklin St
Syracuse, NY 13202
Professor Tomislav Bujanovic will present Power Engineering: Wind Energy Industry. Many renewable energy sources are under investigation, but the wind and solar energy are the most abundant and in the focus of current research. Recognizing their importance, the US DoE & DoI developed and published the national offshore wind strategic themes and action areas in 2016. The Reforming the Energy Vision program of the New York State (2014) outlines a strategy to reach the goal of having 50% of the electric power by renewable energy resources by the year 2030.
People interested in learning more about wind energy are invited to attend the free Sweet Science Series presentation on Thursday, April 12th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Space Gallery meeting room at the Museum of Science & Technology in Syracuse’s Armory Square. Admission is free and open to the public. Light snacks will be served at 5:30 pm. Walk-ins are welcome, but TACNY asks that people RSVP by emailing sweet.science@tacny.org by April 10, 2018.
