Space Dock

Space Dock

As you enter the MOST’s Horowitz Traveling Exhibit Area, you take a step into the future. Welcome to Space Dock: Orion motion simulator and Capture the Crystal laser maze.

Orion can take you to the past, into space, or for a one-of-a-kind roller coaster ride. It’s a motion simulator, which uses a combination of hydraulic movement in six directions, first-person point of view, and lifelike sounds to make the experience realistic.

Because of the ride’s intense nature, you cannot ride Orion if you are younger than 3, pregnant, claustrophobic, prone to motion sickness, or have neck, back, or heart problems.

Orion alternates between two shows, “Astro Cops” and “Smash Factory.” Shows alternate every 30 minutes, 11:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Then Capture the Crystal to save Space Dock. An alien being that looks remarkably like a whale has drained Space Dock’s power and it’s spiraling down to Earth below. You need to navigate the laser maze with as few breaks as possible and retrieve the drained energy crystal so the staff can replace it with a fully charged one, rescuing Space Dock and yourself. But do it quickly before Space Dock enters the atmosphere!

The rides cost a token, which you can buy tokens at Admissions or in the Science Shop. Tokens are $2 each or 6 for $10.
