SEFCU Presents MAKE
SEFCU presents MAKE, a fun workshop space for children that encourages free-form creation using K’NEX rods, connectors and wheels; pipe cleaners; foam; paper cylinders; and much more. It changes all the time!
The exhibit, which is located in the Horowitz Traveling Exhibit Area, includes three stations full of materials that children can use to create anything they can imagine. The exhibit also includes a white board where children can sketch an idea, then pick a material and build their structure, art, machine, or gift.
For the most part, the creation is self-directed, but occasionally museum educators will step in and lead a small program for guests. For instance, educators led an activity for children to make Mother’s Day gifts at the exhibit.
Maker spaces encompass open-ended creativity and instill confidence and a sense of accomplishment in a way that’s fun for children.
